The Book with Seven Seals
5 I saw [a]in the right hand of Him who (A)sat on the throne a [b](B)book written inside and on the back, (C)sealed up with seven seals. 2 And I saw a (D)strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the [c]book and to break its seals?” 3 And no one (E)in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the [d]book or to look into it. 4 Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the [e]book or to look into it; 5 and one of the elders *said to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the (F)Lion that is (G)from the tribe of Judah, the (H)Root of David, has overcome so as to open the [f]book and its seven seals.”

8 Then (A)the voice which I heard from heaven, I heard again speaking with me, and saying, “Go, take (B)the [a]book which is open in the hand of the angel who (C)stands on the sea and on the land.” 9 So I went to the angel, telling him to give me the little book. And he *said to me, “(D)Take it and eat it; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.” 10 I took the little book out of the angel’s hand and ate it, and in my mouth it was sweet as honey; and when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter. 11 And (E)they *said to me, “You must (F)prophesy again concerning (G)many peoples and nations and tongues and (H)kings.”
